🎯

Step-by-Step JoSAA Process

1
Step 1 — Registration

Register on josaa.nic.in

After JEE Advanced result, register at josaa.nic.in with your JEE Main/Advanced roll number. JEE Main rank holders can register for NITs/IIITs/GFTIs. JEE Advanced rank holders can register for all (including IITs).

2
Step 2 — Choice Filling

Fill and Lock Your Preferences

Fill up to 75 college + branch combinations in order of preference. The order matters — first preference gets highest priority. LOCK your choices before the deadline.

3
Step 3 — Round 1 Allotment

Check Your Seat Allotment

After Round 1 result, check which seat was allotted. You have 3 options: (a) Accept seat and freeze, (b) Accept and upgrade in next round, (c) Withdraw from JoSAA.

4
Step 4 — Document Verification

Online Document Upload

Upload required documents: JEE scorecard, Class X & XII marksheets, category certificate (if applicable), Aadhar, passport photo. Incorrect documents = seat cancellation.

5
Step 5 — Fee Payment

Pay Seat Acceptance Fee

Pay the seat acceptance fee online to secure your allotment. For General: ₹35,000 (IITs) or ₹15,000 (NITs/IIITs/GFTIs). This fee adjusts against first semester fee.

6
Step 6 — Further Rounds

Upgrade or Freeze

In subsequent rounds (2–6), if a better preference gets allocated, your seat upgrades automatically. You can freeze at any round to stop further upgrades.

7
Step 7 — Reporting

Report to Institute After Round 6

After final allotment (Round 6), report to allotted institute physically with all original documents. Pay remaining semester fees at the institute counter.

💡

Smart JoSAA Strategy for Jind Students

🎯

Fill ALL 75 Options
More choices = more chances. Never submit fewer than 50 preferences. Include backup options from GFTIs too.

⬆️

Always Choose Upgrade
Select "Accept and Upgrade" in early rounds — you can always freeze later if you get a good seat.

📊

Use Last Year Cutoffs
Study JoSAA opening/closing ranks from 2023-2025 to set realistic expectations for your rank.

🏗️

NIT Kurukshetra First
For Haryana students with rank 1,000–3,000: NIT Kurukshetra Home State quota should be top choice.

💡

Branch > College (Sometimes)
A good branch at a lower-ranked NIT can be better than a bad branch at a higher-ranked one. Choose wisely.

📅

Never Miss Deadlines
JoSAA deadlines are STRICT. Missing even by 1 minute = seat cancellation. Set multiple reminders.
